Giacomo Puccini was born in this house in Corte San Lorenzo, corner Poggio Road, in Lucca. Today, the house is a museum and contains many personal objects: furniture, scores and a rich collection of letters written by and received from the composer and his publisher Giulio Ricordi. You can also see heirlooms, photographs, medals, his coat, his piano and his opera character sketch book. The building has been recently restored by the Municipality of Lucca which created a Foundation to manage it in 1972. The restoration, stopped for property problems, interested the structure consolidation and the system innovations respecting the original furniture and spaces.
We were proud to have participated in the workgroup that designed the restructure of Museo Puccini. We managed the thermal systems under the supervision of the Italian Superintendence.
